A Room With a View... of Les Tuileries

The Duchess of Windsor, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Rudyard Kipling, Liza Minnelli, Salvador Dali, Orson Welles, Elizabeth Taylor and three of her husbands - Mike Todd, Eddie Fisher and Richard Burton - have all stayed at the opulent Le Meurice Hotel in Paris. Designer Philippe Starck gave this historic pillow palace a makeover in 2007, but it isn't as "stark" as his usual fare. Sumptuous French and Italian brocades reign in rooms decked out in a style redolent of Louis XVI. Bien sûr, all the bathrooms are marble wonders. Whimsical art and Chippendale chairs with metallic upholstery add a modern touch. Last month, Madonna directed a scene for her new movie, W.E., at this iconic hotel.

Beauty can be expensive, but don't worry your pretty head. Tablet Hotels is giving away a 5-night stay at Le Meurice, along with an annual subscription to The Financial Times. Manage your money in style and enter.
