Chanel Captivates in Paris

Coco Chanel may have passed away in 1971, but her spirit survives. Fittingly, Audrey Tatou, who played the fashion designer in Coco Before Chanel, was on hand for Chanel's cocktail party in Paris on January 28th. The soiree honored Kirsten Dunst, who once graced the cover of Lula magazine in a Chanel frock. Hey, any excuse for party, right, especially if it includes Sofia Coppola (She directed Dunst in Marie Antoinette and The Virgin Suicides.), Karl Lagerfeld, Rachel Bilson, and Courtney Love, who were all there to toast this pre-Twilight bloodsucker (Remember Interview with a Vampire?).

Earlier in the week, Chanel dazzled the crowd at the Pavillon Cambon with its stunning Spring-Summer 2011 Haute Couture show. See for yourself here. Inspired by Coco's affection for Byzantine-type baubles, the Paris-Byzance show glittered with gems, and I'm not just referring to the bejeweled, but wearable, outfits on the runway. Kristen Dunst, Diane Kruger, Jerry Hall, Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, and Johnny Depp's gal pal Vanessa Paradis all sparkled in the audience.

Dazzling Dior in Paris

Decorating front row seats at the Christian Dior Ready To Wear Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show in Paris today were Rachel Bilson (That OC girl gets around!), Kate Moss (in all black), Vogue's Anna Wintour (Bien sûr!), Marisa Berenson (She used to model in the swinging 60s.), rising French actress Mylene Jampanoi, and French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Also spotted: French model and actress, Lou Dillon.

Didn't make it to the runway? Chances are it will eventually be posted on Dior's website like their previous shows. Still jonesing for Dior? The iconic label invited Blue Velvet's David Lynch to direct a mini-film starring Marion Cotillard to showcase their new Blue Shanghai line. Watch the 16 minute extravaganza about a handbag here.

Pretty People Pose For Paris Fall Fashion Week

Paris Fall Fashion Week kicked off Tuesday, September 28th and runs through October 6th. Today, was a power couples fest at the Balenciaga Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2011 show, where Miranda Kerr and sexy, new hubby, Orlando Bloom turned up, as did Salma Hayek, who held hands with her billionaire baby daddy, François-Henri Pinault. French icon,Catherine Deneuve, and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg were also there.

Raising the roof last night at Robert Cavalli's 40th Anniversary party at Les Beaux-Arts de Paris were Heidi Klum, Taylor Swift, Tyra Banks, Rachel Bilson (She wore a long, signature leopard print Cavalli dress.), Naomi Campbell, Bar Refaeli (who wore a black and gold backless Cavalli gown), Karolina Kurkova, Eva Herzigova, Bryan Ferry, Janet Jackson, and Bianca Jagger. Kylie Minogue performed for the star-studded bash of 1,200 BFFFs, and a Crazy Horse Saloon model slithered provocatively over a huge pair of florescent pink lips. No wonder the Cavalli cavalcade reportedly cost $2 million!

Want to get in the party spirit? Power up with Iron Man 2 and enter to win $10,000 in the Marvel – Iron Man 2 Sweepstakes. That ought to be enough to roll through the next Fashion Week with elan.
